Bushy Park has long been home to a rich tradition of grassroots football. The story began with the founding of Rangers AFC in 1962, followed by the formation of Terenure FC in 1970. For decades, both clubs served as pillars of community sport, nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the beautiful game.
In 2015, these two historic clubs united to form Terenure Rangers FC, creating one of the largest and most inclusive grassroots football organisations in Ireland. Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, experiencing continuous growth in both membership and participation. Today, we proudly welcome boys and girls of all ages, from budding young players just starting out, to adults still passionate about playing the game.
As of this season, Terenure Rangers FC fields more than 54 active teams, ranging from Under-8s to senior men’s and women’s squads. We also have a thriving Over-35s section, providing opportunities for players who wish to continue enjoying competitive football later in life.
Our commitment to player development and community engagement has helped produce outstanding football talent. The club has played an instrumental role in the careers of notable Irish internationals, including Kevin Moran (Manchester United & Blackburn Rovers), Don Givens (Luton Town & Queens Park Rangers), and Gerry Ryan (Bohemians, Derby County & Brighton & Hove Albion). More recently, Dara O’Shea, current Republic of Ireland defender and Ipswich defender, and Joy Ralph of Shamrock Rovers also came through our ranks.
At Terenure Rangers FC, we are proud of our heritage, passionate about our future, and committed to providing a welcoming, competitive, and community-focused environment for all who love the game
